Career
Shift
The complete methodology for reinventing your development career.
Naël Hajji, PhD
First Edition · 2026

The book the sector needed a decade ago.

Twelve core chapters, real transition stories, applied worksheets. The complete framework for international development and humanitarian professionals navigating the biggest career transition of their generation.

Written from inside the sector by someone who has spent his career at FHI360, UNDP, and DRC — and built Reconversion Lab when he saw too many talented colleagues lose careers they'd spent twenty years building.

Questions

Frequently asked.

When does the book ship?
First edition launching in 2026. Join the waitlist to be notified at launch and lock in the bundle price.
Why pre-order the book if I can just use the Analyser?
The Analyser shows you matches. The book shows you methodology. The tool says "here are your pivots" — the book teaches you the framework that makes those pivots actually happen. Most people who buy the bundle find themselves using both daily during their transition.
Is $29 a launch price?
Yes. The bundle will go to $39 after launch. Joining the waitlist locks in $29 when it goes live.
What if I'm not in the development sector?
The book and tool are explicitly designed for development and humanitarian professionals. The methodology might be useful elsewhere, but the role mappings, sector knowledge, and reframing examples are sector-specific. If you're in another field, you'd be better served by a different resource.
What formats does the book come in?
PDF (designed, readable on any device), EPUB (for e-readers), and MOBI (for Kindle). No DRM. Yours to keep, annotate, and re-read.
Can my organisation buy in bulk?
Yes. We work with INGOs offering career transition support during restructuring. Discounted volume licensing available — see our Work With Us page for organisational packages.
Refunds?
30-day money-back guarantee on the bundle. If the Career Analyser doesn't tell you something useful about your career options, we'll refund you in full, no questions asked.
